What is the FTSE China A50?
The FTSE China A50 Index is the benchmark for investors to enter China's domestic market through A-shares - securities of companies incorporated in mainland China, by Chinese and institutional investors in qualified foreign institutional investors and RMB qualified foreign institutional investors (QFII & RQFII) ) regulations.
This is a real-time tradable index consisting of the entire market capitalization of listed securities of the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, the largest of which is 50 A-share companies.
The FTSE China A50 Index is a free circulation index through liquidity screening. It conducts quarterly reviews in March, June, September and December to ensure that the index still represents the potential Chinese market. The index provides the best balance between representation and tradability in the Chinese A-share market. It can be used as a basis for on-exchange and over-the-counter derivatives, mutual funds and ETFs.
